Megastar Chiranjeevi was king of box office in his heydays. He ruled Tollywood unanimously for ages and is focusing more on politics off late. At one stage, he was bigger than any other star in India, including Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth. Very few people know that, Chiranjeevi was first Indian actor to pocket 1 crore remuneration. While younger generation stars are limited to particular regions like Nizam or Andhra or Ceded, distributors of all the territories were in safe zone for Chiranjeevi films irrespective of talk.
Another interesting fact we are exclusively revealing here is one box office record of Chiranjeevi is still unbroken for 13 years. Chiru's faction backdrop film Indra directed by B Gopal collected 17.56 lakhs share approximately for full run in Tuni of East Godavari district. Even latest sensation Baahubali could not cross the score. The Prabhas and Rana starrer film minted around Rs 13 lakhs for 38 days and the epic historical fiction will hardly rake 2 to 3 lakhs more for full run. When it is impossible for biggest grosser like Baahubali to break the record, it would remain unbroken for few more years, may be until chiru comeback film arrives.
Chiru's comeback to films is likely this year. Though the film's announcement may not come on his birthday of August 22nd, the much awaited 150th film of Chiru is expected to hit the floors sometime this year. Let's wait and see how many box office records the Chiru's 150th movie will break?
